The Kingdom of Heaven — Part 2: Saved to Serve
Salvation is the gateway to a life of divine purpose and active service. Explore the biblical marks of Kingdom citizenship, the core foundations of God's government, and what it truly means to obey the King's will.
You were not saved simply to be saved; you were saved to serve.
Every human being serves something. Whether consciously or unconsciously, our lives are continually surrendered to our ambitions, careers, finances, desires, or God. The question is never whether we will serve, but rather whom we will serve.
As we continue exploring the Kingdom of Heaven, the focus shifts from understanding the concept of the Kingdom to living as its active citizens.
Salvation is not the conclusion of the Christian journey; it is the beginning of a life of divine purpose. God does not redeem us to remain spectators. We are brought into His Kingdom to know Him, represent His authority, and advance His purposes.
Kingdom citizenship shifts the central question of our lives from “What can God do for me?” to “What does the King desire to accomplish through me?”
The Demands of Kingdom Citizenship
In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus outlines the nature and cost of Kingdom life:
“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”
— Matthew 5:3 (KJV)
